My name is Mark, as is evident by the name of my blog.
I will get into who I am in just a moment. However, I must state that I am watching the film Gladiator for the first time and believe that it is beautiful. Anyways, I am a student at Chico State starting this blog for my Multicultural Literature class. I am hoping to graduate in May with degrees in Music Composition, Recording Arts, and Music Industry. (I have been told many times that people think I am slightly eccentric. After much reflection, I am inclined to agree.) I do not know what I want to do with my life and am tired of being asked that question. I want to use the culture of hip hop as a motivator for activism and social justice and am still trying to figure out how that works. I create rap music in an attempt to stimulate thoughts on social, philosophical, and spiritual matters, and if it is ever appropriate, I hope to be able to share some of my lyrics in response to the information that I will be exposed to over the next few months.

You're not eccentric-you're crazy. In the words of Terry Pratchett, "one has to have money to be eccentric." :)
Can you post recordings on here? It would be awesome if you wrote a rap and could post an audio file.
